Sundown Dance

You know that it is spring when you see the liverworts. Actually, it is not that easy to see the liverworts because they are small and easily overlooked. Also, they are very rare in the region where I am living.

The image title reflects that these tiny flowers were dancing like crazy in the evening breeze – hitting a good balance between at least some DOF and reasonably short exposure time was not easy.

The image has been taken on a trail through a small nature reserve. The liverworts are growing left and right of the trail so that you can take pictures from the trail without crushing anything. I thought that a composition showing a liverwort in the shadow against the illuminated background brings out the delicate and fragile nature of these flowers.
