While the light was good but also quickly changing, another visitor to this location approached me, attempting to jumpstart a conversation. Being totally focused on the scene, I guess I was not very responsive, so he gave up and wished me a nice evening with a not-so-subtle frustrated undertone. When the light was gone, I actually felt pretty bad about this so I walked over and apologized. We had a nice and inspiring conversation and compared today’s digital photography with the possibilities of film-based photography during the times of the former German Democratic Republic where he was coming from. Lesson learned (again): The ability to completely entirely immerse oneself into a single activity has both advantages and disadvantages. 😉
