Sunflower Field

At the north of the Rügen island in Germany, there is the not very creatively named Nordstrand, an amazing remote beach with soft sand and the occasional decoratively placed rock. On my way there for sunset, I passed by an amazing field of sunflowers, launched into a series of rather silly but surely enthusiastic sounds, immediately changed plans, braked hard and spent the remaining daylight there, waddling along the social trails in the field, placing my tripod here and there, mumbling to myself about different perspectives on the complex question whether farmers like to combine sunflowers with purple blossom phacelia only due to agricultural effectiveness as green manure or also because of a strong sense of aesthetics.

At Rügen, Germany.
